Incredible stories of 40 representative women medics who have fought against novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on the front line were released on April 29 to pay respect to their heroic deeds during the anti-epidemic battle.
The event, organized by the All-China Woman's Federation (ACWF) and the National Health Commission, aimed to show female strength in this national anti-virus battle and to inspire women from all walks of life to learn from them.
The 40 outstanding medical workers represent all "angels in white" devoted to containing the spread of the epidemic, saving people's lives and safeguarding people's health.
Some rushed to support Hubei Province, the region hardest-hit by the COVID-19 in China, fighting on the front line of the battle against the virus.
Others optimized the working flow to keep hospitals safe and rescued critically ill patients with all their strength.
Among them are well-developed medical experts with good skills and high morale, ordinary but dedicated medical workers, and disease control experts and researchers. All of them overcame substantial difficulties to fulfill their medical treatment duties.
They were not afraid of dangers and gave full play to their specialties while warm-heartedly accompanying and comforting the patients with professional skills and compassion.
According to the ACWF, as a follow-up to the 20 outstanding medics released ahead of International Women's Day, the event is designed to encourage women from all circles to strengthen their faith, keep high morale and contribute more to epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development in a bid to achieve this year's development goals.
